SIP Construction...
SIPs are 'Structurally Insulated Panels' and form the structural element of your building, consisting of the walls, floor and roof. They are manufactured in factories under careful guidance so quality is improved, along with minimising waste products. You can finish a SIP building in any material you like from render, timber cladding to brickwork. You can save a lot of money on your build if you us SIP construction as the amount of labour required is significantly reduced. You will get a finished building much quicker when using SIPs over traditional methods. You can use SIPs for most builds, so why not consider this for your next project. I am a SIP Technician so can work with you and the manufacturers to come up with the best design, saving you money and time! |
Loft conversions...
Moving house is both expensive and highly stressful, which has resulted in more people better utilising the space they already have. As a result of this, loft conversions are becoming a popular way of creating extra usable rooms for growing households, as most houses will already have these. In addition to creating that space, a loft conversion is also a good way of adding value to your house, should you choose to sell at a later juncture. |
Extensions...
Another popular way of creating extra rooms is to simply extend the house. New changes to permitted development mean you can extend in most cases without the need for planning permission, which of course saves time and money. Extensions usually occur to the back of the property, however you can also extend to the side if you have the space. Alternatively you can extend over a garage and it is not uncommon to see this in properties where space to the back and the side may be limited. Prior to considering an extension it is always worth speaking to a professional to ascertain whether you require planning permission as factors such as location, size and type of building, my impact this. |
Adaptions...
Sometimes we just want a change within our house with minimal disruption and mess! For those who do not wish to add buildings or create new areas, you can simply adapt your existing space. Perhaps the best example of this is removing internal walls to create an open plan room. This is something else which is becoming increasingly popular for those who want a change that doesn't see them having to move home. We are also seeing an increase in people converting or adapting garages for additional bedrooms, snug rooms or office space. A benefit of adaptions is that as well as potentially keeping the costs down, for any internal changes, you do not need planning permission, just building control. |
