Working with you to bring your ideas to life

Thank you for visiting my website. Please feel free to take a look around and I hope you find some inspiration for your project! Perhaps a good place to begin is by introducing myself. My name is Lynsey and I am a qualified Architectural Technician. I live in Forest Town, Mansfield with my husband Jason who is a Psychotherapist and author, and my daughter, Aisla.
My passion is buildings...the construction, the design and the aesthetics. In 2003 I began my journey which ultimately lasted for 7 years and culminated in me obtaining my B.Sc (hons) degree in Architectural Technology. This included studying 5 years part time at university, as well as working simultaneously in industry for the entire duration of my degree. Being part of 2 large architectural practices provided me with invaluable experience working in small teams and liaising with key internal and external personnel. As a result of my dedication and knowledge, I was tasked with heading up several multi-million pound projects which included a bedroom block extension and link bridge at the Village Hotel in Liverpool and an extension on the Village Hotel in Dudley (pictures below).
In 2008, a colleague and I designed a care home as part of a national competition and was awarded with a highly commended certificate at the RIBA Headquarters in London at an awards ceremony. In 2010, I decided I wanted to teach construction, and so I began the transition from working full time in an architectural practice, to training to become a teacher whilst still undertaking private architectural design work. In 2014, I landed my dream role of lecturing in Construction, and this saw me make the move from my home of Yorkshire down to Mansfield, where I have resided since. From 2014-2021 I worked in the construction department at the local college, ultimately resulting in me being promoted to Head of Department. One of my biggest achievements was nominating and subsequently winning 2 national awards for my students in successive years. At evenings and weekends I spend my time working for my clients, designing extensions, conversions and house adaptions, offering advice and guidance and ultimately submitting plans for planning application and building control where necessary.
My greatest passion is in sustainable construction. I have been working closely with a SIP company and I am pioneering to promote the use of SIP construction with my clients. I am now a SIP technician so have the knowledge and understanding to share with you the benefits of using SIPs in your proposed build.
One of my core values is to work with my clients for as long as it takes to transform their ideas into reality. Using my industry knowledge, skills and expertise, I will provide you with all the information you require and answer any questions to ensure ultimately you are making an informed choice and getting exactly what you want.
If you have any questions or would like an informal chat, please visit the 'contact' tab toward the top of the page. Alternatively, you can visit LCH Architectural Designs Facebook page, where you can also send me a message.
